Love Without Boundaries
Karen Mauna, Associate Executive Director of Love Without Boundaries, spoke on Connecting Women Radio Saturday, June 27th http://www.blogtalkradio.com/connectingwomen/2009/06/27/Connecting-Women. Mauna provides extra information and photos about Love Without Boundaries.
Love Without Boundaries began in the year 2003, after a group of adoptive parents came together to help save the life of one tiny boy in China. Following his successful heart surgery, they realized that people with a pure love for helping children can truly make a difference. LWB incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charity in the state of Oklahoma, and our worldwide team of volunteers went to work.
In just five short years, we have watched our foundation grow from providing a handful of surgeries and baby formula in 2003 to touching the lives of thousands of children today through foster care, medical, education, healing homes, and orphanage assistance. We currently are running a virtual foundation with over 150 volunteers in 38 states and 9 countries. With the help of all of these volunteers, we are able to help and touch the lives of over 1500 children a year, with many of these children being adopted into families in the US and countries around the world.
We all have agreed to provide the most loving and compassionate help possible to orphaned and impoverished children in China, and to show the world that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves to experience love and be treated with dignity and care.
